A voice to his generation...
Reverend Gilbert A. Thompson, Jr., better known as Pastor Andy, has been preaching and teaching the Word of God since the age of fifteen. In 1986, upon graduation from high school, Pastor Andy traveled to Tulsa, Oklahoma to attend Rhema Bible Training Center, under the ministry of Kenneth E. Hagin. After the two-year program he returned to Boston to attend the University of Massachusetts where he received his Bachelor of Arts in English in 1993.

While still in college at the age of 20, Pastor Andy became the Youth Pastor at his home church, Jubilee Christian Church (formerly known as New Covenant Christian Church), where his father, Bishop Gilbert A. Thompson, Sr. is the Senior Pastor. Pastor Andy served for more than 10 years at New Covenant as Youth Pastor, Associate Pastor of Evangelism and Follow-up, Executive Pastor, and finally in 1998 he became the Senior Associate Pastor.

Pastor Andy is currently the founder and Senior Pastor of World Overcomers Christian Church, in Durham, North Carolina, a ministry started in the fall of 2002 and currently ministering to over 2000 people each Sunday. Pastor Andy and his wife Lashawn were married in 1991, and have four children, a daughter Kayla and triplet sons, Kerwin Andrew, Robert Andre, and Gilbert Andy “A.J.”

Pastor Andy has been one of the most sought after Youth and Young adults ministers in the country, and has been called by many leaders as a “voice to his generation.” His down to earth humorous style, coupled with his unending supply of present day examples and parables, as well as his provocative sermon titles, has made his oral presentation unique and effective.
