For more than two decades, Pastor Andy Thompson has helped people turn faith into a practical force for change.
Andy Thompson founded World Overcomers Christian Church in Durham, North Carolina in 2003. What started small has grown into one of the fastest-growing churches in America, reaching thousands across the Raleigh-Durham area and well beyond it.
Known as a balanced-life strategist and a master teacher on the subject, Pastor Andy is sought out by spiritual, political, and business leaders for counsel on leadership, business, marriage, and personal growth. His teaching is direct and unvarnished — he has little patience for faith that only works on Sunday.
That teaching now reaches over a million people each week through television, and his heart to serve shows up daily in philanthropic work both locally and internationally — work that has produced lasting social and economic change in families, communities, and nations.
He is the author of several books, including Real Love Dating and Real Love Marriage, and continues to write and teach on building a faith that holds up under the weight of real life.
Pastor Andy also founded OCF, a growing fellowship of pastors and church leaders. That same heart for developing leaders now continues through Ascend, his cohort for pastors in their first years of ministry.
A graduate of the University of Massachusetts and Rhema Bible College, where he graduated with honors, he lives in North Carolina and continues to invest in his community through initiatives like the Victory Park Sports Complex.
